"I am a writer and analyst working at the intersection of climate risk, environmental security, and geopolitics. My background is in law-enforcement intelligence — over fifteen years — and am now applying that analytical discipline both to climate writing and to speculative crime fiction, including my debut thriller, The Watchers."

I spent more than fifteen years working as an intelligence analyst across the Metropolitan Police, the National Ballistics Intelligence Service, and the Serious Fraud Office, before moving into writing — a discipline I have been practising in professional contexts throughout my investigative career. I hold a BSc in Environmental Studies and an MA in Creative Writing, and it is the combination of analytical rigour, environmental grounding, and craft training that shapes everything I write, whether it's climate analysis or fiction.

My climate writing grows directly out of my intelligence background. Where much environmental coverage focuses on the science or the policy, my interests lie in climate change as a force that amplifies existing threats — destabilising governments, driving financial crime, accelerating mass migration, and deepening social and political fractures. That's the lens I bring to everything I cover: not climate in isolation, but climate as something that interacts with power, money, and human behaviour in ways that are already reshaping the world. My articles can be found here.

The Watchers is a high-concept speculative crime thriller. It imagines a world in which a covert agency deploys operatives — known as watchers — who possess the ability to inhabit the bodies of others, experiencing the world through their hosts while remaining in contact with handlers who direct them. It is a novel about power, identity, and the violence that follows when human consciousness becomes a weapon. More information about The Watchers, including progress toward publication, can be found here.
